Burlington, VT

Got an early start leaving Rhode Island to visit Elaina's cousin Jeff who is currently attending Ministry school a few hours outside of Boston.
Arriving in Burlington mid afternoon we decided to start off by exploring the church street/downtown area. As you can imagine it is the coldest weather we have experienced so far- 20's during the day! We loved the downtown with its brick buildings, adorable shops, and close proximity to Lake Champlain- so beautiful even without snow or colorful foliage!  As it became darker(and much colder!!) we settled in at an awesome coffee shop/hangout called Muddy Waters. Such a cool place to warm up in- they even had Vermont maple syrup as an option for sweetening your coffee! Since the weather did not allow for camping our only alternative was a cheap motel down the road. We were a bit hesitant at first especially when we saw the dead bolt was barely attached to the wall(don't worry parents we had the person at the front desk fix it!!) but it ended up working out quite nicely. We prepared our dinner in the room- pretty funny seeing our room covered in pots and pans and cooking ingredients!
The next day we got a chance to get some info from admissions and explore the beautiful campus before heading off to Portland, Maine!
